What are royalties and how much do I get? How are they paid to me?
Royalties are a percentage of the list price of the book.
Commonly, in the book industry authors make 10% royalties.
Their agents take 10-15% of that, leaving them with roughly 8 to 9% of the cover price.
With us, you make 25% royalties on sales of retail books, 10% royalties on all bookstore orders,
and 70% royalties on sales of the electronic files.
Your royalty reflects your increased role in the process.
As an author you will have access to your sales history through
your author panel, and will be paid promptly on a monthly basis.
Eventually these payments will be electronically transferred
to your accounts, but for now you will receive a check, along with a statement of sales.
When can I expect my royalty check?
Royalties are sent out at the end of the following month. For example: Royalties for December are mailed out at the end of January / beginning of February. Checks should be received by mid February.
How soon will my book be available?
The overall process generally takes about 20 -25 business days.
You still control all the rights to your book. You may effortlessly transition into a traditional publishing deal.
